New Tank Situation ASAP Advice

I never saw any ammonia, or nitrite, in the QT. The plants removed it as soon as the fish made it. I was a bit sceptical it would work with just the plants so I did test pretty often.

I don't have any ammonia in my tap water, that may make a difference if your water provider uses chloramine.

My tap shows .50 which is quite a lot, my plants take out ammonia making my tank usually always 0, .25 when I do water changes. Lucky you! I'm hoping if Prime would help out the ammonia a little bit when I want to start up the tank for the betta.

Yeah I have floating and planted. I am going to start the tank up right now, I can take pictures once finished. Would you recommend using safe start in the tank?
I used Safe Start and had good luck with it, but I added it once there was a source of ammonia in the tank. If there is no ammonia being produced in the tank yet I'm not sure how long the beneficial bacteria will last before they starve (I believe that's the correct term). I don't think it can hurt to add it once your fish is in there and producing some waste.
