I am actually quite worried.
The staircase is just about big enough to get it through, and it is HEAVY.

400 litre braceless bow front with sump integrated in the back.
It's probably going to be over 50kg each to carry up the stairs.

Oh well... Somehow I'll get it up...

400 litres? I've seen that done… my tip is make sure to have 2+ *really* strong men for the job! And tell them to be very, very careful not to hurt themselves…

I've done it once, taking home a tank from a flat in London on 3rd floor, was successful but never again!! I would wear some heavy duty gloves, to keep grip and avoid any knocks.

Problem, staircase is 70cm wide. Anyway it ended up with a total of 6 people hauling it up. Don't ask how we squeezed through, I don't know!

I just hope I don't have to move office at least for afew years, it's going to be a nightmare!

We want pics

Second hand ex-marine, it will need a good scrub. Once it's filled I'll start with the pics.

Fortunately I have a mature filter to seed the tank, so I can start stocking almost immediately.

Oh man, I want one!!

Lucky lucky lucky :)

G

Yeah, VERY lucky.

Paid £300 for it because it was an old display tank at the LFS, and they needed to get rid of it to set up a new tank.
If I were to buy the tank and equipment new it would be over £1400.

Skimmer, sump pump, circulation pump, bio balls and heater.

It's missing lighting, but I can pick up a 4 tube unit for £150 new.

Tank's nearly ready. It's taking AGES to fill up with my RO unit.
Will take picture later today without all the reflections that come from the windows.

Woah! 400 litre braceless? How thick is the glass? Or is it acrylic?

Pics!!

Here's the first of pics

Ignore the internal filter, It's only seeding the sump, it will go in about one month's time, and ignore the heater, it will be moved in the sump.
Also I still have to finish adding the plants.

I will try and add the next pics on the forum itself, unfortunately I cannot from here.

55 cm front to back, on average, which was around 50 at the sides and 60 in the middle on my old tank or similar dimensions.

Discus have gone in today, 6 leopard snakeskins.

One tried to hide under some rocks and got some bad scrapes.
The stupid idiot is lucky not to have lost the eye on that side.
I hope it grows back the scales it lost.

No pictures for the moment, the tank is dark to help them settle in, and anyway they are hiding under a log.

Will keep the light half on for a few days, again to help them settle, since they have beek grown in bare tanks without light.

Once they get used to the light and start swimming around I'll post some pictures.
