Hello - First Post!
Glad i stumbled on this forum.#

Bought my first tropical tank 2 months ago and really enjoying this, tempted to even buy another and/or bigger tanks already.

Need a bit of stocking advice really. Tank: 35L Hagen Elite (50cm x 25cm x 25cm)w/ stingray 10 filter & 50w heater.

Currently have:

2 x Honey Gourami (think i have two males by accident - seem to just about tolerate each other)
3 x Blue Fancy Guppies

I have though of some of the below and would also like a cory or two aswell ad the below (but can substitute. How many is the minimum Corys i should have in a group though?

RTBS - Possibly get aggressive when bigger
Female Betta- Possibly aggressive towards guppies
Dwarf Gourami - Possibly aggressive with the Honeys
Small shoal of Tetra's - Dont want to overstock!
Ram?

Any suggestions and comments greatly appreciated.

Ben

PS: Not to keen on snails/Frogs! - partner is a bit freaked out by them! Bless Her!

Hi, with the sort of level of stock you obviously expect to keep I hate to be the first to tell you that the tank you have started with is far too small.

A 35lt is only really big enough for a single male Betta or a small shoal of tetras or the like.

My advice now that you have been 'bitten' by the fishkeeping bug is to rush out immediately and purchase the biggest tank that your funds will allow. (90lts minimum)

Your original tank would also serve as an excellent hospital/quarantine tank

hello and welcome, i have to agree with Dorsey. I would say, you are slightly overstocked at what you have in there.

get a dwarf gourami and some rummy noses(7) would look great
min for corys would be 4 or 5

no bottom feeders? you should introduce some bottom feeders like cory oor pleco. but i will reommend cory...

Yeah 'discus lover' a shoal of 5-6 cory or a common pleco would be great in a 35L Hagen Elite  NOT!!

Careful how you suggest things to a 'Newbie' as by being told something here it could relate to a disaster in a LFS. (I mean, can you imagin this person going into P@H and saying "but they said on this fish forum I could have a pleco" pointing to a common! People here slag off P@H but remember that can be two way traffic
