Hi everyone

New here today and looking for some help.

I brought the aquastart 320, and was advised it would take 15 fish. Its a 28L tank approx 30x33x38 cm
Is that right? It seems alot, I am planning just small fish. Neons and guppies. I have 7 fish in it at the minute.

All seems well I am doing regular water changes 15% to keep down the pollution and it seems to be working well. What kits do you recommend for testing the nitrite levels and ammonia?

The tank was for the children brought by daddy, yet I am looking after it as mums do. So I would love some advice as I want a happy tank.

By the way I have looked on the internet and I now know a small tank is not good for beginners. Wish the shop had told me that. But I intend to make a good go of it. So if anyone can help I would be gratful. The goods and the not so, just so I am prepared.

Thank you

Hi Jibba and :hi: to the forum.

The basic guideline for stocking a tank is one inch of fish for every one gallon of water. Any local fish store should carry test kits for ammonia and nitrite, as well as nitrate and pH.

Is the tank a new set up?

Hope this helps. :)
