I'm after another couple of fish for my tank but can't work out what I want!

I currently have

1 x BN Plec
12 x Silvertip Tetras
2 x Bolivian Rams

Any advice/suggestions greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Tank size and filtraton would be a good starter ;) If you've got a 20G your stocked, if you have a 100G you have loads of room :good:

I take it its the Juwel 180Litre?

Think fish says you can have:
Stocking Level in cms: 216
Stocking Level in inches: 85.04

So... are you after more dither/midswimming fish?

Depending on setup, you could add a couple more bristlenose, and see if they breed?

You could add danios, lemon tetras, glowlights or a pair of gouramis for instance?

Personally, I might perhaps add some penguin fish or black tetras...

Hi

Oops! Yes its a 180l (40 UK Gallons) with the standard Juwel Filter. It's been cycled fully for around 7-8 months now.

Yes, after some mid to top swimmers. Not made my mind up yet whether I want another school like my tetras or another centerpiece pair like my Rams. Had a look at Marbled Hatchets but I've heard they are quite prone to disease and like to mimic birds by trying to fly!

Had a look at some Dwarf Gouramis as well but don't currently have a quarantine tank and the FAQ on here recommends quaratining them beforehand due to their proneness to illness.

Hmmm...

I used to have marbled hatchets, and yes, if you don't have a cover glass/condensation shield, give them a miss! I once found 3 of mine cooked on a flourescent tube :(

But... now that we know the kind of thing tour after (sort of) how about something like glass catfish (if you have plants/good flow) ?

or pearl gouramis (I have a male in the work aquarium, and he is so inquisitive and active!)

Or something old school like scissor tails?

I can recommend Harlequin Rasbora's great little fish, look great in numbers, white cloud mountain minnow's are also great.

Will have a look at them. Thanks for the replies.

This fish keeping business is addictive! Keep going through "phases" every 2 months or so where I start scouring eBay. Nearly ended up with a 7ft tank last time. Must resist for now!
