Great Pics Baccus, I can't believe that we have such beautiful shrimps native to our country and yet there are still more species out there that have not been discovered yet.

What amazes me about the NQ Zebra and shrimp like the Blackmore River shrimp is they display these lovely markings and colours naturally, not after years selective breeding in tightly controled tanks. And your so lucky Better is Betta tp basically have the NQ Zebras and C. confusa right on your door step, so to speak...... well closer than to mine at any rate.

When I get some Blackmore River shrimp from Darwin I'll post their pictures here too

I can't wait to see the blackmore shrimps......cant do better than the zebra surely. ;) I'm frothing at the mouth not being able to go look for the zebras. I haven't given up, my mission is to boldly go where I haven't been before, to explore new creeks and rivers even if it means being host to some leaches. and to discover new species.

Good for you, I'm right behind you in spirit. Just stay high up in the fresh water, stay away from the big bities.

I hope to be adding another species of freshwater shrimp to my tanks soon the Australian Chameleon shrimp (Caridina sp WA4), they will be an interesting photography experience because these shrimp never hold the one colour. They change at will depending on their surroundings and mood, the beauty of them is that not only do they breed in fully fresh water (not needing brackish at any stage) but also they should not cross breed with any of my other shrimp types. Also in a couple of months I should be getting some neritina type snails, there is around 9 types available to me so they could also turn into an interesting collection.

Well my Australian chameleon shrimp (Caridina sp WA4) arrived today, I will post some pictures of them once they are settled in and hopefully starting to show off their colour changing ability.

A couple of first pictures of the chameleon shrimp, its only a young one so its a bit of hide and seek in the photo but its sort of yellowish in the middle of the green.

And below I think the one on the right is a older chameleon shrimp pretending to be a cherry shrimp who is on the left.
