The tinfoil should be coming into a sexually mature age and size which is around about 10" i cannot wait to start breeding them
i brought a silver arowana just after january and it has grown loads

unfortunately it has develop drop eye on the other side which does look of-putting but i don't care
And the redheaded cichlid have tried to spawn twice now both unsuccessfully sadly they will have to go as they are starting to become too aggressive to their other more peaceful tank mates

Really nice, loving the tinfoils, never knew they could get so big!
You aro looks like he has a kinda bent spine or something, maybe its just the angle...Any ideas?

Well i think that he may have jumpped while young and hit the glass...and it has slowly gotten worse...with out you knowing happened to my old arow before he passed away :(...o well....dosent seem to be harming him in anyway if he is eattin and swimming well...so id not worry about it...

That tank looks awfull there. However, I have an alcove that it cold go into to make it look real good! I'd let you visit from time to time, too.

Jealousy is not a nice thing

I'm planning a 6x2x2'.

I'd be interested in learning more about your filtration and water change schedule. I'm guessing all those big fish go through a lot of food...

The simplest guess, with there having been two Arowana on the trot to show the same problem (and assuming no deaths of other fish or similar issues; TB) that there is a nutritional problem.
Either that or if both were purchased from the same supplier, it may be a genetical defect, possibly via inbreeding....
:dunno:

Try lessening the ammount of turbulance on the surface and see if the arowana straightens out, i notice that in the recent picture that the water returns are set quite high above the water line. Arowana's dont like too much current on the top and go into a tail down position when its too strong for them.

ok i just brought a eheim pro 3 today which cost a hell of a lot ( should be worth every penny)i will be setting it up tomorrow when ma dad brings it back, cfc i will try that cannot that the moment but i will when i scrap the sump
