Can they get in and out of them ok?

I hope you have them glued down. I'd hate for one to roll off and into the glass. :)

It looks good and you've done a lot of work.

Yes they can. There are plenty of spaces. The cobbles are very secure. I hope

Scary...

Think about all that weight on top of each other - with very little contact area
Do you have anything under the sand to spread the load at all?

I hope it works out

Well, I think it looks great! To me they look pretty secure because the weight seems to be distributed well from front to back. I think I would like to do a tank like this someday. Thanks for sharing!

Jennie

The whole bottom of the tank is covered with eggcrate,so the weight is evenly distributed. The tank is 5ft.

wish i could afford something like that, im stuck with a 12gallon tank waiting for shell dwellers  , maby one day when i move out

looks good!
where did you get the eggcrate and what does it look like?im very confused on what eggcrate to get so if you have or can find a pic online,id love to see what to get.

It is not eggcrate,it is pond filter grid whch is just as good and half the price.I got it on Ebay.It is a plastic grid with small squares and is 1.5 inches thick..If you look at members malawi cichlid tanks you will see my stocklist.

Love it, good start, looks Fab. I am in the research stage of doing my mbuna tank.
Those pebbles scare me, thats what i want, bad luck seems to be hanging over my shoulder at the moment ,i know if i do that ,one of mine will roll off ssssssmash
