Hi, im 16 and have had Fresh water Fish since i was about 5, I started with the small round bowls and have now got a decent planted aquarium for my 2 elderly Shubunkins :lol:

So across the next 2-3 months i would like to start building up to getting my Marine aquarium, I have decided to get some corals and will have half Coral and the rest Just Rock, I have beeen doing some research for about two weeks and im currently in the situation where im ordering things online.

Well My dad says i have to plan everything, he has been on amazon and ebay and on pet stores sites to get the best deals on equipments, while he has been doing that i have been thinking of fish i would like, and heres a list of the ones i really want;
Breeding pair of Saddleback Clownfish, 1 Humbug Damsels, 1 Blue Tang and a couple of cleaner shrimps.

Well i have 4 questions to begin;
1) I have read that Humbug Damsels are quite territorial is having 2-4 of them too much?
2) What kind of easy to maintain Corals would you recommend?
3) Best type of Snails to put in the aquarium?
4) Are all the fish i want compatible and any other suggestions and advice are welcome :)

Thanks in advance, Matt

Hi welcome to the salty side.

To answer you questions:
1) I had a humbug in my tank and had to take it back, it just tormented everything else in my tank.
2) Im pretty new to corals as well, I have a mushroom and a leather coral which are both pretty easy to keep
3) Turbo's are good but have a problem of not being able to right them self when they fall off things, I have a couple of mexican turbo snails which have a round shell which work great, excellent part of the cuc.
4) I would not put the humbug with the tang or the clowns to be honest.

Thanks for that :) Andy advice on other fish to replace the Humbug Damsel?

Chromis, goby, anthias (maybe) or blenny should all be ok.

All I can say is if you are going to add any form of Damsel do it last.

:hi: to the salty side of the hobby :good:

Your fish choice will depend on your tank size?
