Hi guys just a quick one,

I'm after a pump for circulation/water movement for my new set-up which is a 100cm long 120L tank. what would you guys recommend? I was thinking maybe a hydor koralia 1 or hydor koralia nano?Or do you suggest any other sort? I dont want to be over doing it with the flow as don't want water spilling over the sides.

Thanks :good:

well it depends on what you have in the tank... for fowlr, 20x circulation is fine as the flow is only needed to pass the water over and through the rocks for filtration..... if you have corals, then you might want to look into more, especially for sps (hard) corals which like quite a bit of flow.

but in my a 30G (~120L) when i had it set up, I had two maxi 1200's and kept soft corals... but you could look into koralia's if you want too, still cheap and you get more flow from them.

Ox :good:

a pair ok korlaia 1's would be fine in that tank.
Aim for the 20x turnover mark and then you can keep a few corals if you decide to

Yeah I would recommend the koralia's My tank is only slightly larger and I have a koralia 1 at one end pointing down the length of the tank and two nanos (one in the middle and one at the other end) pointing towards the front of the tank and behind the rocks.

Yeah thats the other reason I went for them, very low power consumption.

Brilliant guys thanks for that, I think I will aim for the 20x water flow mark as I am hoping to get some SPS in this tank somewhere down the line. I will start with a Koralia 1 and then get a koralia nano in due time.

But just to make you aware in my current 45 UK Gallon tank I have a small rotating pump for water movement (approx 10x) as had to take my large maxi-jet out due to it heating the tank too much along with clearing the whole sandbed on the far side of my tank and the tank has never looked better. It has several softys along with many LPS like bubble, torch, frogspawn, trumpet, candycane etc and all corals seem healthy and are fully open everyday... Just food for thought really ;)

Yeah must admit in my nano I started off with just a korilia nano, then I added a fuge which increased the water flow and another pump in the back so was probably about double just the nano and I didn't notice any big difference in the corals.

For my 130L i have got a Koralia 1 for surface movement and a Koralia 2 for the bulk of the water. Not sure if thats right though!!!!! Haven't set it up yet!
