Was there any point in getting him in the first place though if he's gonna outgrow the tank in like 2months ? If you want an algae eater you'd be better off with oto's, they stay small enough for a 10gal and do a better job anyway.

Hmm, well, i hope he gets a good home in the end when he inevitably gets too big for you to handle.
I like red tailed black catfish but that doesn't mean im going to buy one knowing it'll grow to big for my tank- not that im getting at you or anything, as you said its your money so do what you like- but that doesn't nesarsarily mean people will pat you on the back for your decisions thats all .

... and I saw a pair of really beautiful rhino plecs in the store yesterday and had to skip on them...I'm only 90% sure I'll have a tank big enough for them by the time they need it...not good enough.

no need to be rude....if you didnt want people to comment honestly you shouldnt have posted...simple as that,
I have a big tank but that does not mean I am getting huge plecs I agree with the others and think it is irresponsable to encorage the breeding of fish that eventually end up living out there days in LFS (or worse still NOT living out there days cos they are to big and nobody wants them )
