I've been toying with the idea of getting some sort of small reptile/amphibian when school starts back up. I'll have an extra tank (either 10 gallon standard of 15 gallon high) and would like to have something that is small and fairly easy to keep, but interesting to watch. Land or water habitat doesn't matter much. I've had a tree frog in the past and really like him. Does anyone know if you can keep more than one tree frog together? Also, I've though about green anoles, though I don't know much about them. Any information of other suggestions as far as species goes would be great!

Also, am I right to think that any kind of turtle needs much much more room? What about box turtles?

Thanks,

Laura

How about Land Hermit Crabs ? I have 5 they are fairly easy to keep and i love watching them scuttle about. If you have any questions feel free to ask. :good:

tank is to small for any turtle. Your idea of tree frogs is good. You could get 3 american tree frogs in the 15 gallon high. They are very easy to care for and great fn to watch. I wouldnt bother with anoles, UV lighting and heating all becomes confusing and expensive for such a small lizard and a 20gallon long is the smallest i think they can live in.

Other pets include, a leopard gecko? garter snake? erm other small geckos?

You could keep aquatic frogs. I had African Dwarf frogs a while back and I loved them. They are small, about 2 inches when fully grown. You could keep 6 or seven in a 15 gallon. You could also get an African Clawed Frog. You'd only be able to keep one though in a 15 gallon.

10 gallon wise, i'd go for fire bellied toads
15 gallon high, has to be Tree Frogs :D

I would recommend house geckos...small little lizard, and cute as a button! Fairly inexpensive as well! would work in 10 or 15 high, but 15 high would be better since they love to climb!

thats a good website for info about them!

Fire bellied newts are great too. I have 3 in a (very long) 10 gallon, they're really fun little critters.
