i just bought a baby tiger and red oscar. Right now i have them in a ten gallon but i am getting a bigger tank this month. Well i put them in and for a couple days now they have been hiding behind fake plants and rarely moving, i havent seen them eat. i guess i am just wandering if this is normal or if anyone has any advice i would appreciate it.

thanks,
i have cycled it
they are probably an inch and a 1/2
oscar pellets
i am getting my sisters 65 gallon

I have heard of plenty of people sucessfully keeping an oscar in a 55 gallon tank. You could probably get away with you sisters but I would not recommend it. I even have a friend who keeps a very large oscar in a 29 gallon tank. :hyper: I know, I ***** at him about it all the time but he wont spend the money on a bigger tank. This is something I do not recommend ever doing. Also, change your water very often. This is something that needs to be done normally but with a tank less than 75 gallons, it needs to be done or else your fish will suffer.

Thats pretty good info that lovemyoscar has given you and its spot on as well.
Your oscars, like mine, will fight one day and i had them in my 79g tank, and belive me mate its somthing you dont want to happen :( they fight till the death and these guys can cause some major damage on them selfs :(
