Hi I have rearranged my aquarium today, and i'm not sure of what design I prefer.

New: (water is still cloudy, as I have only just finished)

Old:

Any advice would be great, THANKS

Be honest they both look good but I would also use the word Amazing good for the original set up .

Regards onebto

Prefer the new one but my advise would be, use less wood, rocks and ornaments and instead use more plants :good:

Thanks for the advice guys, keep it coming :D

I'd be more than happy if mine looked like either of the pictures. But if you want an honest opinion,in the new one my attention was drawn to the wood and away from everything else. Perhaps it's stands out too much.
You've done a great job and my opinion is only because you effectively asked to find fault

New version :good:

It's hard to explain, it just "flows".. the old setup your eyes were instantly drawn to the centre, but in the new setup the lines allow your eye to flow across the whole of the tank freely.

As you can probably guess.. I am a bit of an artist

I love them both! I do like the sand a little better in the old tank, just because of the 'dip' on the left. A+!

May I ask what type of ciclids are in the center of the new tank? I am thinking of getting ciclids that can live in a community tank and I see you have cardinal tetras.

Also, what is that device stuck in the sand on the right side?

Mark

Thank-you for all your comments.:)

Th fish in the center is a fire mouth, great fish to keep, that is the fish that dug the ditch on the left.
That is a thermometer, because I had only just finished a water change the water was a little cold so I Just put it in quick, to just keep,a eye on the temp.
:look:
Thanks again

I'm surprised the firemouths don't go after the cardinals. Are they peaceful? I'm leaning towards maybe getting some keyhole ciclids, but those firemouths are nice.

Again, I love your tank! One of my favorites of the ones posted on this site.

They might be aright when small but once the firemouths get 6"+ it will be risky. Keyhole cichlids would be a safer choose. What about Red breasted acara.

I think I'm leaning toward the keyholes. I'll have to see what is available when I get my tank set up. I don't think I can go wrong with keyholes. Was maybe thinking of a pair of keyholes, some rummynose, some guppies, maybe some other tetras and maybe some rams in a 55 gallon tank. Still a while down the road.

Thanks again!
