So what do you think will look best in a 10 gallon nano. I'm taking down freshwater and putting up another nano.

Oh I wish you had other. I don't like any of these. LOLOLOL While ponies are cute, I just never got into them.

Dwarf ponies are hard to keep, but they are pretty popular.

A breeding pair of something would be fun. Not clowns but a few species can be kept as breeding pairs in nanos. Also may want to try that neat fish GAB has in his journal, the cardinals.

I wanted the hermits because these things are huge! I think moon jellies are cool, if my Lfs can get them. Dwarf Seahorses were my original choice, as I got a coupon in afi magazine. That gives me free shipping for two sea horses from south watch seahorse farm. I've always been fascinated by frog fish because they crawl on the ground. What kind of cardinals?

What is a "mega hairy hermit"? ID the species before moving any further forward with that idea. Hermitariums make great, easy to keep nano tanks that are much simpler than even a FOWLR, but it is critical that you know what species you're buying. A hermitarium is definitely the easiest out of the set of things you have listed. If you put the tank by a work desk or something too, many species will become very friendly and interactive with you. Not all will, but very active, fast species usually will.

However, if the species is Dardanus megistos, which goes by a ton of different common names with the word "hairy" involved, then I would not recommend them for a 10gal. I say this even though I just moved mine to one...so forgive my blatant hypocrisy lol. But seriously, in my case it was out of desperation for a place to put the hermits. I tried desperately to find room to fit a 20-long but couldn't at the time and the hermits had to move immediately, so they are currently stuffed in a 10gal. The sub-optimality of the situation it has been obvious to me so far, hence why I cannot recommend them in a tank that small.

The hermits are about 3 inches long, yellow hairy bodies with blue spots on them. The store called them "mega hermits". They were moving pretty fast and chewing on a serpent star.
