New mother of fishes

Hi everyone.
I've already posted in the Emergency forum so I thought id try and start from the beginning and Introduce myself properly.

I'm Rachael, 31 from Manchester, UK.
I have honestly never even seen a fish tank closely before deciding I really wanted to leap down this *expensive* path.

I have a 280L aqua one tank
Osellaris 850 External filter
Air curtain and large air rock
Live plants x 6ish

Gravel,Substrate and sand base (I really didn't know any better/different)

Currently have 6 platy, blue and red wag tail (possibly all male?)
5 black phantom tetras


Already had one drama with one of my male platies.

I will absolutely need your advice and knowledge in the months to come.
I'm an A&E nurse so will happily trade some medical knowledge for fish related skills
