Im in the process of setting up my first marine tank, a micro-reef tank, its 25 gallons so possibly a little bigger than the average nano, i didnt want a huge tank, a much prefer cube shape tanks to rectangles, they look more natural to me

The tank will be set up as follows:

20x18x18 in starphire glass
Lighting: Aquamedic Oceanlight 150 metal halide with 13k bulb
Filtration: 10-20kg live rock and a Deltec Mce600 skimmer
Circulation: 2 maxijet 1200's and 1 900 on a wavemaker
Top up: Tunze top up system

Have taken some pics:

The tank after its just been delivered, decided to go with optiwhite (starphire) glass

The edges looking through 18 inches of glass, you can see through it unlike normal glass although there isnt a huge huge difference

Found it in B&Q a large diy store, wasnt cheap but couldnt resist!

Looks like you are off to a great start. It is enviable to see when people can put skills they've learned to good use in this hobby. My dad was a furniture builder and taught me some great stuff...just wish I had the time and tools. So.....I'll have to just admire your pix for now. Now I can sit back and watch someone ELSE's thread...LOL. We're all watching. SH

One rec...I see you have a hydrometer. It's fine for now. You may want to consider getting a refractometer when you are ready to add the inverts. My refractometer and hydrometer were off as much as 0.004. Think about the difference between 1.025 and 1.021.....worlds apart when it comes to corals. SH

Just to update.

Been a slight change of plan, I saw a percula 90 for sale locally for a great decent so I bought it, the percula is a 3x2x2 75 gallon

im not sure what to do with this tank, may set it up in my room but i have limited space and an 18inch wide tank would stick out a little.

May consider selling but it has cost me more than £300 in cost price alone and 2 weeks of work I certainly wouldnt let it go cheaply and may have trouble finding a buyer

I did build a hood for it,

Best of luck with it.

Maestro...you could definitely get a good price on that. It's job well done...post that pic in the classified section of the forums and I"m sure you'll get an offer. SH
