Hi all ,just a quick intro about myself,
My name is Martin and I have had tropical fish on and off for a good number of years and have just these last few months renewed my interest again.
At the moment I have a small 29ltr nano tank, which has guppy, platys, neons, shrimp and snails.
I am by no means totally clued up on tropical fish keeping but I am always keen to learn and do my best for my fish, which is one reason I joined this forum.
Many thanks ,Martin
Happy tropical fish keeping

Welcome to the forum! I have guppies and one (formerly) platinum beta. Love your black gravel/substrate!

First time I tried the gravel and it comes with its problems ,it is very light so no matter how hard I try when using my Python pump to clean out the fish poops, I still loose some sand and it also gets into the filter as well causing it to stop...trial and error

My gravel is bigger than yours is but with the type of suction vacuum I have, very inexpensive gravity fed one, I have resorted to putting pantyhose over the end of part of it to keep the rocks from being all sucked up. The pantyhose are too fine to get all the debris but cleans up the worst of it.
Let me know if you find any good ways to prevent gravel being sucked up. I'd love to know more! :)
