New Live Sand + Established Aquarium?

Probably not a good idea, I presume you are saying remove old sand and replace with live sand because your other sand is no good!!!

If I was you I would get a small tank and get an RO unit and start a QT tank then start your new tank again! You should always keep a spare tnak anyway for QT in case you have a disease outbreak or injured fish. Now is a good time to find one?

I think you got a lot of things wrong/Wrong order at the beggining and its not really getting better by adding live stock or changing things whilst stock is in the tank?

What questions are you asking me?

Just another tank running with equipment in?
Little bit of LR

could use water out of display tank f its disease free, Just treat it like a normal tank!

how deep is the sandbed you are getting live sand from? You dont want to stir up the sand much and you dont want the deep parts of the sand to go near the top of your sand..... I dont see why you would need to get some more live sand anyway...

I live in Hawaii. Im wondering if its ok to go out to an outer reef and picking up some sand. Isnt this the same thing as live sand?

i wouldnt do that, who knows what kind of nasties you will pick up in the sand, just find another reefer near you.
