its funny that after a while i could only see your 1st pic (slow internet ) and i thought that u were going to stuff up a great tank but then i saw the results of both tanks and i was so impressed. great tanks. good work

see ya

Man, im lovin that 12g!

And i kinda liked the 40 before though! Just me though heheheh :fun:

thanks everyone, i have 8 pots of hairgrass and 2 tiger lotus lilly's coming in soon, all gotta fit in the 40G!!! May put some of the hairgrass in the 12G not sure yet.

by the way gf225 those 3000K dennerle tubes are awesome, i took a 3 hour round trip to the waterzoo on saturday to buy 2 light bulbs. commitment hey..

anyone want any old tubes theyre starting to stack up in the cupboard now..

Sharkey&George: it's the juwel structured background, bought it in the LFS, most Juwel stockists have it or can order it. no idea of price, dont think i asked as i was buying loads of stuff together. it is nice however algae seems to love it, nice styrofoam to get stuck into. bit of a pain to clean but makes a nice backdrop.

Nice one. What tubes have you removed to fit them?

one freshwater.

i now have from front to back

4000K - JBL Full Spectrum
3000K Denerle special plant
7500K freshwater
6000K - JBL - full spectrum

are the dennerle tubes full spectrum? doesn't say on the box.

first impressions are great, the pearling is much finer than before and my gold nugget plec has suddenly started patroling the tank, must be the lower intensity light i suppose.

well worth the trip. next on the shopping list is a black backing sheet for the rear of the 12G, getting fed up of the wallpaper.

What beautiful tanks you have!! I agree they looked great before but look awesome now :D

Dennerle are high-output full-spectrum. There are three peaks in the specral output, the biggest being in the red hence the warm/yellow tinge. Great for plant growth whilst limiting algae - awesome tubes IMO.

in the back right is that driftwood covered in riccia? did you attach your riccia "net" to the driftwood or is it just resting there?
