It's just over 3 foot long, 2 foot wide/ 180 litres approx.

Mainly Lake Tanganyikan species, eg Lamp Leleupi, brichardi, brevis, Gold head compressicep, etc- but also has Pseudotropheus demasoni of Lake Malawi in there, with a pair of Bristle-nose also.

Here's some pics-

Tank looks good. The rock work looks very nice. What is the darker stuff (rock?) on top?
Different looking stand and trim around tank from what I see around my area. Where did you get it?

That looks real nice. If it were me i'd mix the red lava rock in with the ocean rock, and maybe get a nice sized java fern, just personal preference tho.

The red/orange rock is called 'spaghetti rock' it's a man-made rock from my LFS. And yer, i think I will mix it in, that's how I had it in my old setup.

I'm looking for a suitable plant to grow in the crags etc, but I just can't find anything that the little buggers wont eat or rag to pieces!

It's been bought second hand, but it's made by 'Aqualantis' and the model is 'Ambiance 180'

I wanted something different to the old skool wooden cabinets, etc... the pictures really don't do it justice at all!

looks really good, smart tank and stand!!
Carefull with your speakers so close to the tank, it will upset the fish for sure.

I never have music too loud + they're been next to the speaker for a good year or so :)

Awesome tank, I love the all rock look of Cichlid setups.

What is the substrate and where did you get it?

Do you use anything to keep the rocks stuck together?

thanks for sharing

All i've used to keep the rocks together is a bit of clever placement. I've got the foam background on the back pane of glass, so that sort of 'grips' the rocks a little, and Egg crate under the substrate to take some of the weight.

Also, the substrate is live sand/crushed coral sand (Aragonite sp, i think?) It's what is often used for marine setups I think. Costs about £20 a bag anyway lol- but always looks beautiful, really vibrant white.
