Okay so here they are! The fish: one tiny severum rotkeil (supplier had written on the bag "red head".... hard to believe this guy will grow to 7ish inches. Right now he/she is barely over an inch or so. But s/he is out in the open after a night in the dark, swimming and obviously exploring. There are 5 cupid cichlids that are sticking together. One has a real sunken stomach but all looked to feed this morning. The apisto caratuoides are mad as heck. The male is displaying and chasing as is my tiny female. The apisto are going to my office tank today where they will have 29 gallons to work with.

Down stairs in the 10 gallon I also have 6 celestial pearl danios and 6 pygmy corys. Boy they are small. I pulled out the bolivian rams as I was worried they would eat them so now I have these rams not certain what to do with them. Because the severum is so small I think I'll put them back in that tank and then figure it out. I wonder if the danios and corys get a bit bigger I could put them back in that tank, which I hope to replace with something slightly larger soon.

Anyway here they are....

awww the sev is a tiddler. I have to admit cupids are rather cute.

that sev is cute as a button! you can easily have the bolivian rams in with the sev , even when the sev is full grown it wont worry the rams at all .

Not worried about the rams that way... just may be a bit overstocked then. But for now the apistos are going to the 29 gallon (at the moment he has all the new fish corralled at one end. What a jerk.

Hooray :D you got the cupids!!! Brilliant little fish, those are Biotodoma Cupido which you can tell due to the eye spot it sits above the lateral line so they will get lots and lots of blue on them as they grow up :)

Congrats on the new fish.
The only problem I see is that the tank is too small for Cupids. Unless you have a genuine pair and the rest are sub dominant they will kill
each other. You could end up with one Cupid. They are really aggressive towards each other.

I would hazard a guess that the cupids are in a 60USG tank, would that still be too small for cupids?

Karin didn't mention what tank they were all in anyway, I can only assume it's the 60. What was mentioned was that the apistos are being moved to a 29USG...take a look at Karin's sig for more clues

Ya, the severum and the cupids are in the 60 gallon along with pair of angels, seven congos and at the moment 4 corys and a pair of B. rams. The B. rams are going to go somewhere at some time.... even now the female B. ram owns almost one whole side of the tank and is chasing all the cichlids but the angels that just are into each other. There is a bigger tank in my future but not for a year.

I'll change my sig in a couple hours... right now it is snowing and time for some skiing. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE.

Happy NEW YEAR hope you got in some good fresh powder runs. Congrats on the new fish. You are going to LOVE your severum it's so much fun to watch them grow. The cupids are really cute too. Time to start watching CL for a bigger tank ;) . I will keep an eye out for you.
