i am currently trying to come up with the money to patent an idea for a new type of biological filtration device, which i currently have a working version in my 110gallon tank, made from things i purchased at a home depot. i think this idea will definately excell, cuz no one ever thought of it. it is a super-biological filter, and thats al i can say about it until i get my full patent on it. but i can tell you this, with this you will never have to clean your aquarium again, and that i can guarantee. its like the movie, just add water.

...and you have to wonder wat it was....Now uve just scratched the surface to leave everyone wondering what it is and how it works...

When exactly will you be getting this patent? I want to know more. Do fish fourm members get them half price when there on the shelves!?

Are you sure no one has done this before.....
Regarding the patents....I hope your fully aware of what this entails.
I recently submitted a device and wasn't aware of the costs involved...just to get on the first rung of the ladder.
After that everyone is looking a piece of you and wants your cash for doing so...this runs into £0000's...It will have to be renewed periodically and again costs money every country is different there is no such thing as a worldwide patent.
GB costs are pretty high and there is nowt stopping a Far East sweat shop from copying your design.
Please be aware of what's ahead of you...but if your design is as good as you claim then good luck for the future.

don't know how long the process will take. i am trying to include every angle so that no one can take the idea for the product, change it a little and make it their own. i can tell you guys that there will be 5 versions, all versions will come in sizes for different size tanks. as soon as the patent is mine, i will post the blueprints and tell you how to make the homemade one too. i really hope i will have the funds to make this happen, big C. it would be a shame.

Nicely done Bob. I hope your system works as well as you think it does. Does it take care of nitrogen accumulation in the form of nitrates or does it rely, as most systems do, on water changes to remove nitrates? I use a NPT scheme to reduce water changes to about one every 6 months but have not seen a system that would preclude water changes at that frequency.
