The worlds biggest aquarium is set to be built at a disused brickworks in Bedfordshire.

Costing £250million,the massivw project will be four times the size of Cornwalls Eden Project.
It is intended to be both a leading research facility creating 2500 jobs and a top tourist attraction by 2010.

Inside the amazon basin the Mekong Delta will be created and stocked with tropical trees and fish.

It will cover 40 hectares and housed under big domes.

9sorry if its been posted)

Wow, just another reason to visit England!
That is going to be amazing when it is all done and I wish something was like that here. (and you have to for- The Enden and now the Fish)

The facility is going to be 40 Hectacres = 100 acres = over 4.3 million square feet! and I thought my 30.5 sq ft pond was big!

Excelent - life time membership here i come :)

It was looking a bit sketchy as to weather or not it would get the go ahead as the local road network cant currently cope with the increased traffic.

I just hope they sort that out - or it'll be hell getting in and out.

Ah... "If the plans are approved the centre could be running by 2010."

Dont hold your breath folks - I got the bad news from someone sat on the council panel that is overseeing the plans...

I hope it does go ahead.
