Fish Aficionado
So, we finally finished moving everything. Fish tanks being the last stuff.
And welp, wanted to take pics of the tanks before they became overun with algae again lol
There was 1 casualty though in the move unfortuantly My big fat old female julii cory just didn't take to moving very well and died. She was belly up in the bag and just couldn't get better. Almost had another die, one of our harlequin rasbora. It was going belly up as well, but perked back up and is doing absolutely fine now.
Anywho... on with the pictures w/ commentary.. don't you feel lucky now lol
First up, my last remaining betta Trix. She's so difficult to photograph. They never do her any justice. She's a chocolate brown w/ a blue tint to her fins.
Her 5 gal hex home she shares with a single pond snail. Need to put another plant in to it b/c it looks so bare.
Next up is one of the 10gal tanks housing platy and 1 golden panchax killifish.
Pic of the killifish first. He's been acting kinda strange (before the move too).. not sure what's wrong with him. He's just been hiding alot lately. The platy leave him alone, so I know he's not being harassed.. *shrugs*
And pics of the platy. It all started with 2 females, and well, this is what we have now. Will probably have alot more soon b/c lazy me didn't bother to seperate the genders once I could tell what they were. Hoping the killi will find alot of the fry and have them for tasty treats. Gosh, that's so awful to say lol
Next is the other 10gal tank housing another golden panchax killifish. He was in our 29gal tank, but he was stressing out the other fish, so this is his new home.
The plants look so straggly b/c this tank was brought over about a week before the others. We didn't have a stand for it, so the plants had to sit in a bucket for a few days before the tank could be set up. Hopefully I'll be able to get some more to fill it out better.
Anywho, on with the pics. Here's the mean lil fella checking out the tank. He's definitely one curious fish and not scared of me at all.
Had to get a pic of him looking out of the window. It's so freakin cute! I'd cuddle him if I could lol
And finally the 29gal tank... 28, 29, whatever it is lol
The water is a bit cloudy, and the plants in this tank are a bit scraggly as well due to the tank having a chronic case of BGA, hair algae, etc etcheadacheetc, bleh
Would've filled the tank up more, but ran out of dechlorinator heh
Also planning on adding a few more fish. Think a couple more rasbora, and some guppies. Maybe get 2 male and 3 female. Hoping that when there are fry, the bumblebee goby will have something to hunt and eat.
Much happier looking Bolivian Ram. Poor thing was stressed out SO much by the killifish that was in the tank. It would hide inside of the root decor to get away from it.
And the ever fearless bumblebee goby. Freaking picky little turd almost died b/c it didn't want to eat the frozen bloodworm I was trying to give it. Guess they weren't fresh enough for its taste *grumble*
And finally a pic of the 2 male platy in the tank. The big blue one is such a chicken. ALWAYS hides when he sees me coming. The dwarf one is less timid though and such a little cutie. It absolutely adores the rasbora and frequently tries to school with them. They're too fast for him, but that doesn't stop him from wiggling his little butt to catch up. SO CUTE
And yep, that's it. Hopefully I can get the tanks looking a bit better once the plants get settled more and grow out, and when I can actually get more plants.
