Hey All,
My Name is Mathew and im 17 years young from Swansea,Wales.
Not exactly 100% new to this place but thought I'd make a Topic Anyway. Been "lurking" around for a couple of days now and I have to say there is a nice community here full of helpful and knowledgeable people.
History
I fist started the fishkeeping hobby at about age 13, had a 10 gallon tank with 2 goldies for about 2 months. This was my fist tank so I was pretty stupid when it came to knowledge and ended up killing the fish due to not doing any water changes(or maybe something else). After that I kinda give up and thought stuff it this hobby is rubbish.
About a year later I visited my LFS(Maidenhead aquatics) for a usual day out and after walking around and viewing all the beautiful tropical fish I decided that I would try again. About a week or so later( and many nights nagging) my dad took me to the the store and we purchased a 40G Fluval Tank with everything included. After listening to everything the store told me my tank was up and running after about 2 weeks with a few guppies in there.
After having a community tank (Guppies, Pleco, Neons etc) for about 6 months my LFS had a delivery of Silver Dollars(Metynnis hypsauchen) and I instantly fell in love with them. I then changed my 40G to a sole Silver Dollar tank( 4 fish) and kept them successfully for 2 years with no replacements/deaths. After this however my life started to change and I could not keep up with the commitments of care for them and passed them onto a friend and stopped the tank.
And here I am now, back interested in the hobby I recently purchased the Fluval Flora Kit. Whilst being in college 5 days a week I was looking for a low care/budget tank to sit on my computer desk. Im really looking forward to this new tank and maybe in the future even getting another larger one.
