Guess I should introduce myself here. I have a 10 gallon and 30 gallon freshwater tank. Knew nothing the first time with the 10 gallon, so we lost the 3 fish we started... Read a little after that, and started both tanks with a fishless cycle. Currently have 3 white mountains in the 10 gallon (not sure what else to add) and 2 otos, 3 guppies, 3 plattys, 6 leopard danios, and 1 ghost shrimp in the 30 gallon.

Hi becky! :D

Welcome to the forum! :flowers:

If you're looking for some good fish to add to your collection, let me suggest my favorites, the cory cats. They are cute and funny little guys who get along with everyone. They are schooling fish and to make them happy, they need to be kept in groups of 3 or more. You won't be disappointed with them!

:hi: to this forum.

It seems to me that you've started out well. Livebearers are excellent beginners' fish.

Add a few more ghost shrimp and you'll get a lot more activity. Same thing goes for the cories suggested above. :D

Thanks for the tips! I was actually thinking about moving the otos to the 10 gallon and getting some cories for the bigger one. We did start with 2 ghost shrimp, but I'm sorry to say somehow one is missing. The only thing I can figure is I sucked him up when I vacuumed the tank and didn't see him since he was clear?? :*)

:hi: to the fishy forums, everyone will be willing to help you and to be helped by you. Great to have you. :) Mr.shrimp may have gone walk about and got out of the tank.

I doubt that it was sucked up. They're pretty good swimmers and probably wouldn't fit. Check under decorations and bubble bars. They love small crevices and dark places. Good thing about them is that they're cheap, good cleaners, and compatible with the other fishies. :D
