I don't know what to do, my guppies just keep dying. I have one male left and if he dies I'm screwed :-( I don't know what's wrong with my guppies but I do notice a difference in their colors. They've got some grayness in the middle of them. What could be wrong with them?

30 gallon tank with a 320 gph filter. I have a heater in the tank but don't believe it works because the temp is 74 degrees

how long has the tank been set up? is it cycled?

whats your stats?
ammnia?
nitrite?
nitrATe?
ph?

It's been set up for like 3-4 years, I don't know of the nitrates and nitrites but will get a test kit tomorrow. The pH is 7.0

it could have just been a bad batch. when i get them ( or any fish for that matter) from petsmart they all die. when i get them from a lfs they all live.

I have major issues keeping male guppies alive from the petstore. I did just find male lyretail guppies at Petsmart and went ahead and got a couple boys. The reason I did this was because their coloring is very similar to wild guppy type and I'm hoping that they might be a little hardier.Male lyretail in my tank.

Got them from Aquabid, but it was like a month ago, they just now started dying. I'm going to get a test kit after school tomorrow. Although I did do a 40% water change yesterday.

Nitrates are pretty high. I'm going to change the water and treat them for protozoans because the Grey covering is scaring me.

Have you tested your pH?High nitrates over time can lead to lowering pH and then a pH crash. :shout:

I never test my PH, and mine breed like ... well guppies,
This is a problem seen alot. They will be fine one day and drop like flies the next. How old were they guppies have quite a short life span. I believe its 2 years.
