New Fish

Aww, thank you! :D

My betta tank is just over 3.5 galls... They will eventually be moving into a ten gallon, maybe but i havent decided what im doing with all my tanks at the moment so dont want to fill each tank up with fish then maybe have no where to put them when they get big... Therefore, i dont want another oto! :)

I was thinking of a bristlenose? The guy at the LFS wanted me to buy one of those for £9!!! but i know somewhere i can get them for £2 ;) lol

Would that be better than the oto? I dont want to keep him alone if he's going to be unhappy, but i dont want to drive all the way back to return him if he'll be ok (one hour round trip!!)

Jess

EDIT - Just thought id add thats theres already 2 albino cories in that tank! Its prob slightly overstocked anyway, but the cories are not going to be in there permenantly :)

Definitely not the bristlenose. Maybe a couple snails? If you get the right kinds of snails, they won't breed like crazy. I have one kind of mystery snail (ivory mystery snail) and have 7-8 of them in my tank and haven't had any baby snails yet. Check out www.applesnail.net

They do produce waste like fish, but you can have 1-2 of them and not worry about their needing a "community".

i just have one oto, he doesn't seem lonely. Although i guess i dunno how you would tell :dunno: It's prob better to have more, but maybe its not necesary, i didnt get more cause i was afraid i didnt have enough algae.

Wow! Loads of replies to this post!!!lol

I have kept him so far (on his own) but as i now have a new betta in my old two gal i was thinking of buying another oto and putting the two in with my new betta! I couldnt get anymore than 1 as it would probably be too many fish with just the three but if people think this is a good idea ill do it :)
