After recently stocking my tank, I noticed that my bleeding hearts(4) and bosemans rainbows(3) are swimming in the bottom third. The danios, swords and cories are doing their normal thing. I do plan to add a few more rainbows and a pair of bleeding hearts when they become available. Is it a combination of them being new to the tank and not a complete school, the reason they won't swim up higher in the tank? I thought that would be a little more mid level than they seem to be.

Are the rainbows right up against the bottom huddled together? Are they eating aggresively? The reason I picked out your rainbows is because they are more sensitive and will show signs of distress first.

When I say agressively I mean they should be going crazy over food. Mine splash me when I feed them.

They generally stay around the bottom and will sometimes move into a corner together. They do eat , but jus not voraciously yet. I've had them less than a week, but I'm planning on adding a few more. Perhaps this will ease them a bit
