New Fish

I just purchased 6 von rio tetras and after putting them in hospital tank I noticed 1 had a bent spine.. Can anyone tell me what I should do? Is this a disease that can be spread? I have 2 other fish in the hospital tank as well... Are my other fish infected now? Help please

It's probably a deformaty that it was born with. nothing to worry about, just don't breed it. The fry would also get bent spines.

I may be wrong but I think it is a birth defect, and some feel sorry for the fish and keep it till it lives its life out and some people get rid of it. None of your other fish would be affected, and the decision is up to you to do what you want with it.

It's kinda bent upwards but he still seems to swim okay.. He plays with others and seems happy.. I'm just worried it may be a disease and I don't want to spread it... How would I be able to distinguish birth defect vs. disease? thanks for replies
