New fish! Whoops, impulse buy...!

Pandas are super cute! I'm sorry about the losses though! That's always upsetting, even more so when it's a rare expensive one :( :rip:
Don't worry it was a good year ago now. I will get more Corys at a later date. Mt LFS has put the price up for Cory's since covid I've been wanting more but it's to much to pay 30 something pounds for 3 when my other LFS has the same for £10 for 3 sadly its being renovated and will not be done for a while now.
What is your favourite Cory mine is long fin albino

Ouch! Yep, 3 for £30 is a lot for normal cories. Having said that, I did just pay £30 for my three Venezuelans, lol! But I wanted to go for it since I had store credit anyhow and I've wanted them for a long time, so I treated myself. :) Then the otos were £5.99 each or six for £25, and I wanted six anyway to bump my group back to eight.

Oohhh, which is my favourite cory? That question came up in another thread, and I stated firmly that I couldn't pick a favourite until I'd kept every species of cory ;) Right now I have C. aeneus; normal bronzes, albinos, and now the black colour morph too, then I also have six Sterbai, and many pygmies. The pygmies are in another tank, and are my favourites really. The otos are in the pygmy tank. The pygmies are so tiny and adorable, and the babies are teeny and so cute! They're so fun to watch when in a big school, easy to breed and don't need me to raise them like the C. aeneus do. But I'd also really like to keep a colony of Corydoras habrosus (salt and pepper corys, another dwarf cory) at some point too.

I really want Pygmy Cory's there lovely. there been on my bucket list for ages Salt and pepper was my first tropical fish. They were a little boring compared to other cory In my opinion but they were still lovey. I think I have dwarf Cory at my LFS last I checked but that was a good 2 weeks ago

Did you have salt and peppered cories, or peppered cories? ;) That's the trouble with common names without the Latin, can get confusing!

These are Peppered cories, C.paleatus - they're the same sort of size as your albinos. Little bit smaller, but not a dwarf cory.

These are salt and peppered cories, C. habrosus, which are a dwarf cory so much smaller than bronzes or peppered, closer to pygmy cory size, and these are the ones I want to keep next :)

There were peppered looking at it now. Im sure when I brought them my LFS said they were salt and pepper. im supposed to be the Cory king getting all this right Thanks for correcting ne.

Congrats on the new fish :) What are the others that you saw? Curious to see what you are looking up!

ETA: Nevermind, I'm an idiot and didn't realise luminatus and red neons are apparently the same species!

I'm really sorry, somehow I missed your comment until I re-scanned through the thread just now!

Oh man, the list of fish I made is long! Brace yourself, lol

Firstly, the dwarf rainbows, since I should be getting some psuedomugli luminatus

soon (trading with another hobbyist once the weather cools) and I'm really interested in the different psuedos now. They had a few different ones, but the ones I was really drawn to were the celeb rainbows

Now, they are a more subtle rainbow, but under a really good plant light, their colour is really really beautiful! They were really stunning just in the store tank, but they were even better in the planted display tank under a good light. Photos really don't do them justice, you really have to see them in person. I'd wait until I can afford a really quality light with a good spectrum though to really pick up the colour in their bodies.

They also red neon rainbows, blue eyed, that are really lovely too. They're tiny! Also looked great in the planted display tank. There were some more species I've forgotten, sadly, I felt a bit weird writing down my long list of names and prices, lol

@Wills There were a few that I loved the look of, but knew I wouldn't be able to keep that didn't make the research list, like the synos! Such gorgeous fish, and on my dream list long term, but I know it won't be happening for a while. But still nice to see those whiskered beauties in store!

My list:
Moenthausia costae
cruciatus loach
pyjama badis
garra flavatra
anchor catfish

And fish they had that I know I want to keep at some point, but not ready for yet that I did know of;
ember tetra
chili rasbora
cherry barbs
fire red apistos
neon green rasbora

Again, their lights are really good and they have some beautifully aquascaped tanks with Co2, so the plants are gorgeous and fish colours pop, so the cherry barbs, embers etc were really bright and red. Fish were very healthy, didn't spot any disease at all! Had some stunning discus too.

I can honestly recommend the store, which is called The Fish Store, in Bedminster, Bristol, for anyone who is near or passing through! Fish have been beautifully healthy the three times I've visited at different times, and they quarantine new stock like the cory babies I bought in. Huge range of fish too. They had cichlids and things too of course, @Wills , but I didn't write those down since I'm not in the market for them. None of your favourite Nicu's today though.

Are those pics yours or ones online?
Still stunning either way!
Ive thought of getting those guys for my tank.

You obviously have an eye for the beautiful and exotic

There are a lot of nice cories out there - right now i'm partial to eques and laser.

Those are definitely very beautiful cories! The list of cories I'd love to keep is super long already, and I know for sure that there are a lot of C numbers that I've never seen too!
Now do you fancy the gold lasers, or the green?

Oh, some really nice shrimp in store too, along with the usual neos, there was a tank of bee shrimp that caught my eye because they were a really beautiful and richly coloured white and red striped, but at £12.99 EACH, I literally gasped at the idea of how much you'd have to spend to establish a colony! Outside my budget, for sure!

Oh those are stock photos, but when I get my luminatus, I'll be bombarding the forum with photos, don't you worry!
These aren't so exotic, despite their beautiful finnage. The blue eyed red neons were £4.99 each, six for £25, while the celebs were £7.99 each or 3 for £18. Not wildly expensive.

The luminatus I won't have to pay for, I'm trading with someone reliable I've traded with before, in exchange for a group of my pygmy cory youngsters :D Since those fellas have been breeding like mad and I really needed new homes for some young anyway, it works out well for both of us!

They still look very exotic even if they didn't cost a lot!

Really cool that you'll basically get them for free with the trade ins!
