Hello All,
I posted about a week ago about the DOA fish I got in the mail. Well, I am very sorry to say, the second shipment were also DOA.
It was all I could do not to cry. (I tried not to because my friend's son was there).
But, I had told myself that if this shipment didn't arrive alive that I would go to WM and save the little tail biter that I saw two days ago. So I went, he was gone and they got this GORGEOUS shipment in! There was marble females and beautiful VT male. I almost went home with a blk, wht, and red female. But my conscious hit and I knew that I had promised to SAVE a fish, not just buy it because it was extaordinarily pretty. (If she's there next week, she is MINE!!!)
I hit Petsmart, both of them, and the WMs in my area. Would you believe all healthy shipments?
It was good to see!
I went to get a drink at a place next to Petco. My friend and I had stopped frequenting this particular Petco because of the terrible mistreatment of their animals. (Yes they've been reported.) Anyway, I went in on a whim. The ENTIRE place was remodeled!! They had almost nothing under 1 gal in the betta section, and every thing (every fish tank) was crystal clear and not a sick fish in sight! I guess they hired new staff too!
Amongst the very happy bettas, I saw this pathetic, very thin purple mustard gas looking guy. I knew right then and there that he was mine. He did the happy wiggle butt dance at me!
In the way back I noticed a plakat betta (which they never had). Well, it wasn't, instead, it was a poor VT who had been beaten up so badly that he must have had an encounter with another male!
He went home with me too.
In short...well, in the end, the torn up boy was named to match my turquoise VT girl (her name is Omega), he is Alpha. (It fit since whoever he fought with, he was the victor!)
And the purple mustard gas is now named Jimmy. (for now, it may be changed).
Here is Alpha in the holding jar until his tank was ready:
Another one:
Here is Jimmy in his new tank (I just bought it for him!!
):
Jimmy is very purple and light orange in real life.
Also, here is a shot of his new tank, a minibow 1 gal:
And the 1 gal next to my 5 gal:
How cute is it??
