Long been planning a Six Line Wrasse but recently saw a very similar shaped fish with spots rather than stripes. It was labelled a "Peacock Wrasse" but I've not been able to find any info on them. Anyone know anything about them?

Am very tempted!

The Peacock Flasher Wrasse originates from the rubble flats of Northern Australia and Melanesia. This peaceful wrasse is red along the back with a white belly. Horizontal yellow or neon green stripes adorn the sides of the male, whereas the females have mostly a green appearance. Although subdued when compared to the males, the females still offer a striking look with a bright red stripe running along the back. Colors may vary depending on the fish's mood.
The Peacock Flasher Wrasse is a very peaceful, active fish that will bring both color and activity to a fish-only or reef aquarium of 50 gallons or larger. They will not bother any corals or invertebrates making them a perfect fish for the reef aquarium. A single male can be kept with a group of females that is introduced prior to or at the same time as the male. These wrasses like to jump, so a tight fitting canopy is recommended.

When first introduced into the aquarium, live saltwater feeder shrimp should be used to entice this fish to eat. Meals should consist of a variety of frozen mysis shrimp, vitamin enriched brine shrimp, flaked foods, and marine meats.

Approximate Purchase Size: 2" to 3" (females); 3" to 4" (males)

Bottom pic looks close, think it was some sort of Leopard Wrasse having had a look through the site Miagi linked to.

They didn't have any this weekend anyway, so I now had a six line!

Most wrasses are too large for a nano tank. A sixline should not go in anything under 20...they need swimming space. SH

I have the Vermiculate wrasse... also known as the peacock wrasse, also known as the slendid Leopard wrasse which is also known as a Divided wrasse.. Its scientific name is. Macropharyngodon bipartitus

The most common seen is the female, the male developes a deeper greener colouration i beleive. They also are happy to live in pairs in a tank if they are added at the same time. They can be difficult feeders and wont easily acclimatise but other than this they are reef safe and the same care should be treated with them as you would a 6 line wrasse.

This is mine little beauty
