Not sure if the tetras will turn and fight back, but since they have to spend the night, turn off the lights in the tnak and the room they are in (and make sure the curtians are closed too so it stays dark until you wake up). This way, the betta and everyone else should just go to sleep

after continued fighting - and one of the tetra's fighting back i have isolated the tetra's in a plastic bowl thats floating on the surface in the tank until first thing 2moro morning when I will return the poor things - hope they are going to be ok after this ordeal
