so I worked very hard to start an after school aquarium club and finally my proposal has been excepted. i have gathered over 15 kids that would like to participate in this club we have a nice big grant so money is not a problem but we only have ten weeks left of school so i don't know what kinds of projects we can do. we already have behind the tanks tour tickets for the long beach aquarium but that will be at the end of the year. i was thinking that we should breed guppies or raise tadpoles but if anyone has some ideas i am all ears.
thanks
ian

thought i`d answer as you worked hard for it...well done.
i spose it matters somewhat, what age the kids are? maybe do a bit of a community with some shrimp and snails as well as fish? a few plants and teach the whole eco system thing and how everything lives together with the plants etc, also if the school shuts for a while will you still be able to care for them?
or
maybe a load of piranha? if the little tykes misbehave you could have fun at feeding time :hey:

+1 above :p

There was an aquarium club at my high school and after a big fundraiser we installed two fifty five gallon tanks in out library, one was a saltwater aquarium and the other was a fresh water.
It was great :)
As I said we had a fund raiser (In conjunction with a few other clubs) and raised almost three hundred dollars ourselves - (A local independant LFS donated the tanks which was great)

Not sure if you could do that in your school but it was a great experience at mine, and there is still an aquarium club at my high school, I take them a few fry to raise every now and then :p :)

the kids are 10 through 14 and are very interested in fish and we have a five gallon 3 ten gallons nd a 20 gallon tank so maybe some female bettas or a community what are some good fish? Maybe guppies mollys and platys what are some non livebearsers because i have a ton.
