New Filter

I just bought an aquaclear 30 for my 20gallon tank. How long should I run the filters together untill i can remove the old one? Just wanna make sure i dont create another cycle.

I'd say just to put all the filter media from old one to the new one, running two filters together does not really work very well for cycling apparently.

if you can fit all media from old to new then do that
otherwise you can squeeze your current media into the tank near the inlet
it wont guarantee you that you wont start a cycle but could help

What I did when I switched filters seemed to have worked really well:
I have took all the media from my old internal filter and fitted it in my aquaclear 50, I made sure that the biomass was also in there
It did cause a mini cycle but that might have been because I also changed all the gravel to new gravel.

So you guys think that the filter catridge I can shove in the aquaclear filter. Should i put it at the botton near the sponge or in between sponge and biomass? Sorry for the late reply

It shouldn't matter, but given the chance I'd put it in between.
