Hi all,

Some of you might remember filling out my survey a few months ago for a design course that i am doing. I set myself the task of coming up with an alternative filter design, (which has proved to be pretty difficult). I have finally come up with a concept and produced a pretty rough 3D model of my proposed design,(please see below). I really need all of your help with my final market research. So if you could spare a couple of minutes and fill out my survey (be brutally honest in your answers if you want to), I would appreciate it. The key features of the filter are listed in the survey.

You may have seen this post before in another topic, I have created this new topic to avoid confusion between my old survey and this new survey.

Many thanks
Nick

Thanks to those who have filled out my survey already. It would be good to get some more feedback, so if anyone has not done it yet, it would be good if you could, and it only takes a minute to complete.

Done very quick looks good

I afraid I can't tell enough from the survey to tell how it works. I see what you listed as features, but it would be nice to see arrows on the rendering showing water flow, connecting pipes, etc. But I'm intrigued to learn more.

I guess the main question I had was how you can keep the pump running while pulling out the drawer to get to the media.

Thanks. I plan do do an animation of the filter to show a bit more clearly how the filter works, but i am running out of time now. In response to your question about how the pump can be kept running? On the rear of the filter is a compartment that houses the pump, and this is seperate from the main media compartment, so the water flow can be re-routed, by a couple of simple ball valves (not yet shown on the model) when cleaning/changing the media, and then the ball valves can the be put back to the first position when maintenence is complete, and the filter can be run as normal. Hope this helps.

Thanks again

That sounds sweet! I just took the survey for you.

Come on ladies! 75% of responses are from men. I know you are out there, so here is the survey. :)
