New Filter

I am looking to buy a new external filter (Teratec EX600) to replace my eheim aquaball internal filter and was wondering what the best method of changing the filters was.

Do I just swap over or is it best to run both for a while to let the bacteria to establish in the new filter or squeeze the existing filter media into the new filter container.

The last thing II want is to restart the cycle process.

Any comments on the Teratec EX600 would also be most welcome.

If you can just place the media from the existing filter into the new one you're set. Just make sure not to let it dry out.

If you can't do that just run them together for a month then take the old one off. You may have a mini-cycle, but it should be small.
