what volumes your tank? If its 5ft long them im guessing that filter might be too small.what volumes your tank? If its 5ft long them im guessing that filter might be too small.

a filter that smalle is for like a nano tank, hence the price. For a 5 foot tank you will need something like a canister filter. Good luck with your new tank.

Just checked its 151 litres or 40 gallons, so whats the recommended cycling per hour for a filter? im guessing at least twice so it would need to be a filter which cycled 300 litres per hour?

5 times for cannister and 10 times for HOB. The conversion is correct for litres to USFG. So you need a flow rate that is 200gph for a cannister and 400 gph for a HOB. Over-filtration is a blessing not a sin!

do you think I could get away with an internal 180gph filter?
You can do anything you want! Having said that, Nope! Internal filters are the least efficient of all filters with perhaps the exception of an under gravel filter. Also, did you buy an aquarium to store hardware (internal filter) or to house fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are also a pita to maintain.
