New Filter

I am thinking of getting a new filter for my 10 Gal tank. i currently have a tetra whisper filter, and was thinking about getting a bio-wheel instead.

If I get a new filter and install it will the whole tank cycle again, do i need to re-cycle it?
Is one better than the other?

Just run the filters side by side for 2-3 weeks for the new filter to 'cure' then remove your old filter and your tank will not cycle again.

The bio-wheel should be better than the whisper.
