I put a piece of driftwood in one of my aquariums about a week ago and I noticed some white stuff on it. Looks like fungus or something. It's not spots, it's like along cracks and splits in the wood. Is it goin to harm the aquarium any?

I believe is a kind of mold, you could remove it with your syphon when changing your water. My yamato shrimps normally take care of it. Try to remove as much as you can just in case

This specific white algae is called Crulumpus-Excafre, it was first discovered and named in 1771 by Felix Sderee A german fisherman. He attended a university and received degree in marine biology. He is honored in the algae hall of fame. The best thing you can do is clean your tank reguararly.
