Hey everybody i bought a steel blue crowntail 2 days ago and he hasnt eaten his food. This is the second day, and im just wondering if he will become hungry at some point and start eating? I have 3 other veiltails, and i never had a problem with them eating right after i bought them. Im feeding my crowntail Wardley Premium betta food, what do you guys feed your bettas?

I feed mine normal flakes and sometimes blood worms as a treat. Maybe he's eating while you're not in your room. Try feeding him bloodworm and see if he responds. If not, he may be sick or stressed out.

hey you "freakinhippie" ;)
sometimes bettas get a little weirded out when you first bring them home. it takes them time to get used to things again so don't worry if he isn't into eating at the moment, i'm sure once he gets hungry enough he will eat. congrats on the crown-tail by the way ;) i'm inviting you to come check out the betta/gourami section of this site, there are a lot of bettaholics who would love to fill you in on whatever is on your mind ;) with my bettas, i like to feed them a variety of food. pellets are a good staple but if you can get your hands on some frozen food like bloodworms or daphnia you will find your bettas really enjoy a treat every now and then too. make sure you don't overfeed though and take out uneaten food so it doesn't spoil.

he will adjust and begin eating soon! some fish have trouble settling in, but they adjust to their new home sooner or later

Good Luck :)

Thanks for all the help you guys!! :D Ill post on the betta section next time lol. My Crowntail has already built a nest so hopefully he'll start eating soon. Either way im gonna go get some of those blood worms.

Ill have pictures up of all four of them soon, i need my best friend to come over with her digital camera!
