I got a new batch of corys today, some C. weitzmanis. These are young adult fish that I bought from the seller Aero on AquaBid. The good news it that they all arrived in excellent condition. Here are some pictures.
This is how they looked when I opened the box:
Two bags with two bags each in them:
Unpacked. Note that one of the bags leaked a little but there was still enough water in it to keep the corys safe. These are what is known as "breather bags." Unlike the normal bags they are smaller and filled almost all the way with water. I was nervous about having the corys sent this way, but they did work out well.
Here they are out of the bags and together again. The temperature was down to 63.7 F. Since I was concerned that they might warm up too quickly, I added an airstone, covered them, and did a partial water change to lower the temperature of the tank I had prepared for them. When they were each at about 67 F. I moved them over.
A few hours later they are swimming happily. They looked so settled that I fed them some blackworms which they ate readily.
Here they are in their new home:
Aren't they sweet?
