new concept in aquariums

hmm, i dunno realy. I prefer to get as many gals for my tanks size/space they take up as posible; it just doesn't look like you'll be getting many gallons for the size its gonna take up and theres not alot you can do with that type of tank design.

I really like the idea and the concept and all. Its pretty creative IMO. It would make a great fish/amphibian or fiddler crab setup. You know fish in the deep end and where the water tops off its shallow at the wide end for the critters.

Or for a saltwater setup have a reef or saltwater fish only setup in the deep end and have the wide part at the top taper off to be a seashore with land hermit crabs, little bonsai palm trees, etc.

Only thing is the cabinets are pretty ugly to me...but I guess that could be dealt with with a little woodwork? -_-

Its got potential.

Mmmm I see logistic cleaning maintenance nightmare. What if a fish is stuck or lying dead on the bottom of the tall section  All in all I just don't like the idea.
last time i checked, fish float when they die. a ugj will make it so you wont have to vacuum the bottom part as much

Do you think that it would be any better if say the whole front of the aquarium where deep like that and there was a level of shallower water behind it. Or maybe a deep part on each side rather than just one???

I like the design already, and that will just improve it.

However I wouldn't buy that because I want the most gallons for my dollar, and I don't think that's the case here. Also, I'd like the tank with out the decor, but I'm sure that could be arranged if I were really interested in purchasing that tank.

The first question that popped into my head when I saw that was water circulation, or rather, the difficulties posed in trying to make sure that there was adequate water circulation throughtout the whole tank.

Another thing is I would buy a stand to put that on, as the deep side on the left would be on ground level, and I'd prefer a more conventional setup where I wouldn't have to look at the ground to watch my fishes.

here are my email questions
and there answeres are in capitols, exactly how they replyed

1) what size are they? that is to say LxWxH + depth of long piece and
depth of short piece, also the volume in litres would be great.
APPROX 1500MM L X 500MM W X 1320MM H
2) how would you recomemd cleaning the deep part?
MAGNET
3) do the wheels come with it?
NO THIS IS FOR PHOTOGRAPHING ONLY!
4) is there any additional strengthening for the deep part? to me it
looks like more weight would be on one side of the cabinet, thus
making a potential tipping hazard; also there would be an uneven
stress put on the short part.IT WONT TIP OVER WE HAVE BEEN DOING IT FOR 20 YEARS

5) finally (the killer) how much?
£2700 PLUS DELIVERY

can anyone say customer service?

Not really practical for planted or reef tanks. Imagine the lighting requirements for a 1.3m deep tank!!!!!!! You could I suppose have high light plants in the shallows and some very low light plants in the deeper part.

:/ mmm funny that - last time I check my lfs I saw dead fish in the bottom of the tank - they were most certainly not floating. If you have a heavily planted tank, the bodies can get trapped in the foliage. I just still don't like those tanks.

I think you would have the same problems cleaning this one as you would one of those monsterous ones, that is why I would hire someone to do it for me. I'm sure who every designed the tank has figured out how much pressure would be exerted on the walls of it and have compensated for it (thicker glass or acrylic). As for the casters, it appears those are on a removable transport dolly used for moveing large and awkward furniture. I think it would be nice to have a two tier tank, gives it more of a natural look.

I like the way it looks...sort of. It's very unique. I can just see huge tall freshwater plants growing in the tall part...
But it doesn't look very practical. -_-
