New cichlids are here and I’m in love

I can finally sit back and watch my tank without feeling something is missing. Some of them came a little small , but my others aren’t too big yet so I’m not too worried. Will just make sure to feed them enough to not want a midnight snack.

Lions cove trewavasae x1 (my wife demanded I got one. Didn’t research to much on them seems to be fine)

We need another reaction emoji , one with a quizzical face with a question mark above its head . How do Mbuna break your heart ? They’re hardy and long lived aren’t they ? @Connershawzz is from Utah so he’s got the hard alkaline water . What am I missing ?

You aren’t kidding!! I left for 4 days a week or so back , came home to my favorite one gone without a trace he was about 1.5” (like most of my new ones) he’s been replaced by the same type. I just gotta keep them fed and happy

Mbuna don't set out to eat each other, as largely herbivorous fish. But they do like murder, and once you've killed a tankmate, I mean, why not eat it?

My yellow tail is loving the chewere, wondering if it thinks it’s another yellow tail that’s the opposite sex? Chasing it everywhere but never has nipped it will just swim next to it like they are schooling , then try to rub itself on it.
I’m sure they are to young to mate right?

That’s how single fish tanks come about… when your favorite fish turns out to be a serial killer… I had many single fish tanks, 25 years ago ( most were 10 gallons ) sometimes the 10 was a punishment, if it as the biggest fish in the tank, and sometimes the littlest fish turns out to be a psycho and kills lots of bigger fish… either way, I ended up with a whole bunch of single fish, 10 gallon tanks

Had a buddy back then, that had a 220 gallon tank, he pulled it completely apart ( it was full of limestone slabs ) every other week, so no one could take a solid claim on turf…
