New Cherry Shrimp Setup

I dont agree Mamashack, the red cherries are simple as, hardy, and tolerate a lot of different tank conditions, they breed like rabbits. The other coloured cherries are a bit more delicate, but certainly not along the lines of the other shrimp types out there.

508 - I want to do a whole shrimp rack at some stage, mainly catering to cherries, love the little critters

My apologies, Alasse - certainly didn't mean to intrude on your thread nor was I implying that they are the hardest to look after, but cherries and other neocaridinas have been bred and inbred so much to achieve better colouring and other traits that they have lost some of their original hardiness. Some people might have tap water that suits these types of shrimps - others have to work hard to get it right. Just trying to let Bettabrighteyes know so that she can make an informed decision.

Tis all good.....i can only go on what i have experienced with them. I've kept them in many different sourced water types, never had an issue with the reds, 20 can very easily turn into many hundred within weeks :)

I like the new red fake plant ^.^

Yeah dunno, hasnt grabbed me yet, it may disappear yet lol

Any chance that red plant can be placed near bottom of tank, if you don't like it where it is, seems to have a similar shape to the woods triangle effect, maybe place it so the wood stems frame it more! I don't know, your tank, but just an idea as your last post made you seem uncertain of it xx

It is gonna be removed, it doesnt suit the yellow shrimp look, they look better with just the green plants :)

I have 10 new yellows coming sometime today....

Debating a different tank......will have a play with the other tank and see if i can get it how i want it lol

Sad now, breeder has had an issue and hasnt got enough to sell at this time

But anyway i am still going to move my current yellows to the other tank

Just cleaned the other tank, redid the filter (some of old filters media will be going into it as well eventually). The tank is currently outside after having the back spray painted.....so a few hours and i can start setting it up

Sorry you won't be getting your shrimp just yet - at least it will give you chance to set up the other tank.

The other tank is now set up and ready for shrimp lol. I dont muck around.

But we have a slight glitch.....light isnt working...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Problem solved, moved everything to another tank, shrimp in residence, and loving the change.......and i notice.....i have SHRIMPLETS!!!!
