Got a new camera for christmas, a Panasonic DMC-FZ18, and it makes taking fish pics oh-so-easy :D. So I thought I'd share a few quick ones straight from the camera :).

Cant wait to start playing around more with the camera, thanks for looking :).

nice fish. the photo were well taken too. I am wondering why your tank is naked in the last pic? maybe some gravel makes it look well ?

that is a fry tank, used simply, to allow fry to develope enough to be placed in an aquarium. as such they need to be very clean, eggs and fry, as you know, are prone to fungal infections. having nothing on the bottom, and few orniments makes cleaning better, it also minimizes the chance of fry getting trapped. but perhaps most of all, these tanks, tend, to be set up only when the keeper has fry, and are not normally used for display.

love the goby! and the angel looks pumped
Thanks :D.

Thanks underworld! Pretty much what boboboy said, when the fry are all grown up I'll be using the tank to house a snake, so it's not a permanent tank :).
Very nice pics.
Thanks paul...can always count on some form of feedback from you :).

Yep, soooo much better than my old camera. If I ever upgrade I'll probably be looking at Panasonic again.

Thanks, I will! I hope to improve as I work out all the different settings and try different things.

It's a peacock goby, Tateurndina ocellicauda. The rams doing great on his (I think it's a guy) own, I had two of them, but had to re home the other as he suddenly started being a real pain to all the other fish, and causing injuries. I'd like to get some other dwarf cichlids soon, but my tanks going to get pretty cramped when my my current fish grow so we'll see how it goes, I'm going to have to swap some fish round. The tanks in a real state right now, needs a good tidying up, but I'll take a full tank shot in a minute for this post :). Next Saturday I'm going to get some proper lighting (I'm using nasty £3 tubes from B&Q right now) on it and give it a good going over (clean filter, cut back plants).
Great pics and great looking fish, full of colour :good: . How much did your new camera cost :) ?
Thanks :D. It was £230, but my parents payed £130 of it for christmas, so a very good deal for me! It's well worth it so much that I still would have saved up the money for it otherwise.
I like the angel and tanks :)
Thanks :).

Is it just the Male Peacock Goby you have (that image is a male btw) or do you have a female aswell?

I have two, that one and a slightly smaller one. I've been presuming that the smaller one is a female because of the smaller looking head, but that could grow so I'm unsure.
Would I have big problems if I ended up with two males? I've seen no aggression between them, but the one pictured does stretch out his fins in front of the other one, I just assumed that was some sort of courtship display tbh.
