I bought a new betta last week. He's very friendly and curious His name is Bubble, and he is in a 30L with five pygmy corys.
He was sold as a halfmoon. I'm not sure if he is as I haven't seen him flare yet, but I don't really mind what he is. His fins are practically transparent. I was all set to get a colourful crowntail and then I saw this guy.
Acclimatising:
Exploring his new tank:
Looking holy:
Unfortunately things haven't been going all that well since I added him. I used mature tank media from my existing tank but it seems I didn't use enough as I had a nitrite spike. Ammonia has been 0 though. So it was large water changes for several days, and the nitrite seems under control now although I'm feeding really lightly. And now I think he has white spot so I'm treating him for that. Despite this, he seems happy and he is active and behaving normally, so I really hope he'll be okay.
