A friend was looking at my aquarium today and he saw a tiny snail about 1/4 the size of an aquarium gravel stone. As you all know, I dunno much about aquariums and fish, but how did this get in there? I'm guessing from a plant that I bought that had been in a tank with several adult snails—unless snails are A-sexual. I don't mind having about 7 snails, but if it becomes dozens, then that's a problem. I could gather them and sell them. Some people like them, some don't. I'm one who does.

Well, I just found 5 more tiny snails a few minutes ago. I'll have to wait until they get bigger to where I can get a good hold of them without crushing their shells, for they're fragile at this time. Some people like snails such as me, and some don't—so I'll sell them cheap to anyone in my area who wants any. They sell in stores for 2.49/ea. around here, some places for $1.89. I'll sell mine for 50¢ each. They 6 baby snails appear to be Black Mysteries. Now if only I knew how to breed fish. Yeah, I know I need a much bigger tank than I have now. :/

aww cool. are u able to show a picture?

This is one of at least six of the babies. There might be more or will be. I just don't think I would want more than seven adult snails.
As for babies, I don't mind having a couple dozen running around—so eventually I'd have to sell or give some away.

Your going to have trouble keeping it down to 7
I dunno—my neighbors had their snail count under control. They wanted about the same as I do, and that's pretty much all they ever had. :)
I know at first I will have some trouble `cos I don't know how many came from that one Hornwort that I bought several days ago. :/

That one in the picture looks a lot like a Physid, a bladder snail. It might be a pond snail too (Lymnaeidae) if it has triangular tentacles instead of thin ones, but the shell coloring hints towards a Physid. :)

They are fast movers and sort of cute. Might munch some plants, but usually will only eat decaying plant matter as most of the other snail species. They won't grow over 2 cm in length.
